Computer glitch brings train traffic to a halt in Gelderland

A malfunction in a computer system brought train traffic around Arnhem, Nijmegen and Zutphen to a halt on Wednesday morning. The malfunction meant that train traffic controllers could not operate the signals and switches, making it impossible for trains to run safely. The malfunction has been resolved, ProRail said at around 8:00 a.m., but it was likely to take at least an hour for traffic to restart at a basic level.Submitted by Janene Pieters on Wednesday, 16 September 2020 – 08:18
